As you may or may not recall, my work was chosen to be included in the SAIC alumni show this year!
It’s a fun fundraising auction event where the proceeds benefit the school’s scholarship fund. The show is held in SAIC’s well-known Sullivan building off South State in Chicago. Artists either donate their work outright or create a piece on the spot. It’s a very exciting event.
Since I’d missed Chicago, and more than I even realized, we flew out for the show. My work, Garlic Clementine,

excitingly sold for half-again as much as it had been listed for at buy-out! In the last seconds of the auction count-down, two woman were actually shouldering each other to outbid on my piece! It was very exciting! I’m so grateful. That made my already fantastic night that much better!
