In Depth
The image reminds me of an abstract Bowerbird nest. Solid pieces on top of nature’s interpretation of Pollack. As it should be, in the spirit of fun and association, I named the piece Kakapo mistakenly. The image was fun to me like the sound of Kakapo as a word. I had been introduced to the Bowerbird and Kakapo in the same PBS series and flipped them in my head with respect to the image. It took weeks to realize it. I left the title in the light of laughter and celebration of appreciated error. -Nicole Kristiana FitzGibbon
